This is fairly old news by now, but I wanted to post it anyway. Something I guess I have in common with most people is my complete and utter indifference to 99.5 percent of all ads. Sometimes, however, a commercial comes along that manages to catch my attention: usually one that’s funny, quirky, tech/sci-fi related, just plain weird or all of these qualities mixed together.
Some of the Droid ads are good examples, as well as this one for the carrier NTT DoCoMo in Japan. The video is part of DoCoMo’s “always with you” commercials, and it lets the main antagonist from Star Wars, Darth Vader, represent the Samsung Galaxy S. Pretty cool, and the music’s good too.
Who wouldn’t want a tall, dark Vader just hanging around, as long as he doesn’t put a Sith choke grip on you? It seems nice.
