During the past year, the commercials for the Droid brand of Android phones have done a great job promoting Google’s OS to the general public – in America perhaps even more so than Google itself. I have personally been pretty impressed by several of them, and I remember that I was very intrigued by the [...]

A feature that was introduced in Android 2.1 is live wallpapers, and they debuted on the Nexus One back in early January 2010. Live wallpapers are basically animated, interactive homescreen backgrounds that can behave differently depending on the time of the day, where you are, Internet updates, and how you move and touch your device. Last week, I decided to give my Nokia N97’s TV-out feature a try and see what it would look like when I played some retro games on the television. I was pretty geeked out when I realized how well it worked [...]

Ninjas, stop-motion animations, the Nexus One… This must be the best unboxing video since the Samsung Omnia (if not the best ever). Do I smell viral marketing? You can read more about the Google Nexus One at the Top Phones section.

I was quite geeked out when I first saw this: Verizon’s marketing campaign for Motorola’s upcoming Droid device running Android 2.0. I must really be in the target audience, because few commercials have managed to attract my attention so well. The fact that the Droid (a.k.a. Sholes) is the Android phone I’ve been waiting for [...]

This is old news by now, but I wanted to share it with you anyway – it’s multi-touch on Windows 7! I got pretty geeked out when I first saw this. I wouldn’t mind having a laptop like that…

I know this viral marketing clip for the very first Samsung Omnia is over a year old now, and that the device itself is pretty mediocre, but it’s still a funny and quite original classic. The special effects are surprisingly well-made as well.

It apparently took 1500 hours of playing with lego to create this clip – that’s eight hours a day for six months (a bit frightening, don’t you think?). The ending result looks great though, and the chiptune is pretty good too. Check it out.
