There’s an Internet meme that is based on a pinnacle scene from the German film Downfall (2004). The movie is about the final 10 days of Hitler in his underground bunker and in this particular scene the Nazi dictator rants about the failures of his army. There are hundreds of often hilarious parody videos using […]

Most people walk around with a camera capable of shooting decent video these days. Unlike static photos, videos captured in portrait mode can’t be turned the right way later on. I guess we’re all guilty of having shot vertical videos at some point and this YouTube clip deals with Vertical Video Syndrome in an entertaining […]

By chance, I listened to the Cat Stevens song Don’t Be Shy while watching the hysterical and hilarious “Android on Crack” video with the YouTube sound turned off. With this new musical backdrop, I felt the dance became an inspirational and heartfelt performance piece by a slightly bewildered Android that’s not shy anymore, that’s finally […]

I’m not entirely sure what to say about this feverishly dancing Android and its mighty moves, but seeing is believing. The title of the video on YouTube is “Android on crack…lol”, and it’s pretty descriptive. I can’t stop laughing watching this clip – it’s wonderfully offbeat.

Motorola has turned Apple’s classic 1984 big brother ad against them with these promos for the world’s first Honeycomb tablet – the Xoom. Motorola’s message is obvious: now there’s a more powerful alternative to the iPad, and Apple has almost become the Big Brother of the dystopian George Orwell novel Nineteen Eighty-Four, that Apple showed […]

These two concept devices appeared during or shortly after CES in early January 2011, and are somewhat old news by now, but I wanted to share them nonetheless. Many promising concept devices never materialize, because financiers couldn’t be found, the projects weren’t deemed commercially viable, or because the designs were too far ahead of current […]

TechCredo isn’t about bringing the latest news; it’s more about documenting and listing the coolest things in mobile technology – the truly innovative stuff, stuff that’s impressive enough to even geek out a hardened tech geek. Such as the recently revealed Motorola Atrix superphone running Android that also can serve as a desktop and netbook […]

Almost two years ago, when even Android 1.5 Cupcake hadn’t been released yet, Russian über phone insider Eldar Murtazin labeled Android 2.0 “pretty sad”, but version 3.0 of the platform “fantastic”. Apparently, Eldar dropped those comments after having viewed closed demos of Honeycomb as it looked back then at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. […]

The MIUI Team, which I nominated for “Android Person of the Year” at Androinica, has just released a strikingly professional promo video of the latest rendition of their custom Android ROM. The version number of each MIUI release is based on the date it was made available, so v12.31 will be released on the final […]

You might remember the highly original unboxing video of the Nexus One that featured ninjas and stop-motion animations. It was uploaded almost a year ago, and now the ninjas are back in another viral marketing video that takes the concept one step further. I won’t spoil the surprise, but the clip can’t be embedded and […]

This is fairly old news by now, but I wanted to post it anyway. Something I guess I have in common with most people is my complete and utter indifference to 99.5 percent of all ads. Sometimes, however, a commercial comes along that manages to catch my attention: usually one that’s funny, quirky, tech/sci-fi related, […]

I just couldn’t resist posting this, a 7.5-minute video HTC added to its YouTube channel late last night that does a superb job presenting the upcoming Desire HD and the new features of the Sense user-interface. I badly hope that all this good stuff eventually gets ported to other HTC devices by the modding community, […]
