You most certainly already know about the beta version of Opera Mini that was released earlier this week. Opera Mini has been one of my favorite cellphone browsers for years, I even prefer it to its big brother: Opera Mobile. Mainly because it’s so quick (pages are compressed before being directed to your phone) and because it has such a convenient interface.
Version 5 introduces tabbed browsing, a password manager, copy & paste, visual bookmarks (“speed dial”), a more polished UI and not least an integrated on-screen keyboard. I also noticed that I no longer have to confirm that Opera Mini may access the Internet, and that’s a relief. The world’s most popular browser for mobile devices just got a whole lot better. You can grab your copy by visiting http://m.opera.com/next on your phone.
Here’s a walk-through of the new features and the official site.
