SPB Mobile Shell is the most popular user-interface for Windows Mobile devices alongside Touchflo 3D by HTC, and whenever there’s a new version out – it’s a big deal.
Mobile Shell took a great leap forward with v3.0 that was released back in May. My favorite feature it introduced was probably the panorama desktop with widgets that is very reminiscent of Android (who probably has the best mobile UI on the planet). I have had the privilege to test version 3.5 of the UI for the past week, and I must say the improvements are many.
I’m especially glad to see that 3.5 allows you to browse your emails and messages in a way similar to Touchflo 3D; a feature I’ve wanted in Mobile Shell since the first time I tried it.
There are plenty of other news in this release, and some of the highlights include a hotted up carousel design (pictured to the left), a bunch of new widgets for the desktop and lots of general improvements here and there.
I recommend everyone with a WinMo phone to try out Mobile Shell 3.5, it certainly makes Microsoft’s OS more attractive to look at, useful, fun and up-to-date. And that’s something it’s in dire need of, right? Go grab the trial version here! Look below for two videos of MB Shell 3.5 in action.
